MEET THE BIG Z

The Z1000 is designed to be a ‘streetfighter’ style motorcycle – essentially a sport bike stripped of some bodywork and given a straight handlebar.

The earlier model had been described as a quirky bike with a ‘spunky engine personality’ and a sporty – yet relaxed riding position.

On the other side, some riders were not impressed with what they describe a peculiar handling, excessive engine vibration and “love it or hate it” styling.

The newer Big Z has improved the earlier flaws and produced a fast and easy motor bike to operate.  Improvements were the front cowl – widened; and a double beam headlight in the center.

The exhaust system is handled by belly-mounted pre-chamber, allowing mufflers to be lighter and more compact.

Chassis improvements feature the engine hung in a lighter, aluminum frame, this   via a four-point mounting arrangement.  This is designed to increase chassis rigidity and as well, make it more stable.

Kawasaki Z100 is reasonably priced at $10,500 and gives you a bigger, more powerful machine, ideally suited for street life.

There is now a smaller version of the Z1000 on the market – The Z750, but that, as they say, is another tale to tell. After all, if you liked small stuff you won’t be reading this, but the Yamaha Aerox blog! :)
